    In a Artemisia arbuscula community with Eriogonum brevicaule, Haplopappus acaulis, and Balsamorhiza sagittata. Abundant.

  • Description

    herb. Plants in mid-flower, to 5 (6) inches tall; stems upright, branching early, with side branches often surpassing terminal flower cluster. Flowers in few (3-6)-flowered clusters; flower lobes pink, tube yellow, glabrous internally and externally, calyx margin purple; stamens inserted unequally in upper corolla throat, longest filament greater than 1 mm. long and exerted to mid corolla lobe, pollen light blue and zonoculporate; styles also short exerted. Ovules 1 per locule. Collomia linearis, Collomia tenella, and Collomia renacta here as well, but much less abundant. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
