Ceremonial Plant. Vaginal steam bath for firstborn
ceremony. This is one of the plants to add to the
steam along with techelleia chull, Cassytha
filiformis (MB 4363); cheskiik, Eurya japónica var
nitide (MB4366); ongor, Pandanus tectorius
(MB4367); kertakuo, Decaspermum fruiticosum
(MB4369); itouch, Gleichenia diaranopteris
(MB4370); and chelouchau, Citrus sp. (MB4371).
Put in pot of hot boiling water for one day. Next
day (last day) of ceremony, woman sits over pot
on seat, she is enclosed by a tent, 7 basins around
her with same herbs. Another woman is helping
her. Woman sits for 10 minutes or as long as
can stand, if in tent too long she'll get dizzy.
(This treatment helps from dizziness in the sun
when outside the next day.) Breathe in with
mouth and exhale with nose. If woman who is
helping is menstruating or has the flu, she cannot
go inside, another woman helps. Use with
chelangel, Pouteria obovata (MB4361) in mix of
1 handful of leaves and vines.[modekenger style of
traditional medicine].
