Habitat
In gravelly ground near top of knoll. On steep knoll. Soil mostly bare with outcropping quartz & loose quartz stones; with bushy shrubs 1/2- 1 1/2 m tall. Vegetation burned-over.

Description
Shrub with several erect branching stems. Unripe berries purplish-red. Ripe berries black with white farinose layer. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
