    Tall tree to c. 26 m. with smooth trunk & scented wood. leaves glossy dark green above, silky tomentose beneath with pale tawny hairs. Fruit like clusters of acorns, cup green, fruit blackish purple with glaucous bloom when ripe. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
