    Type a single specimen (No. 28408) in herb. Ag. inscribed "No. 9. inter alias algas e Martinique". Below on hb. sh. is written in hand of J. Ag. "No. 9 = sp. S. filiformis J. Ag. sp. p. 644". Is my No. 2098 or rather the latter is his var. cervicornis, which hardly deserves a distinctive name. Ultimate branches of the type a little shorter and less divaricate than in the greater part of my No. 2098. Photo. 64,5 m. 1:45. Nat. size. "Ochtodes J. Ag.", (Howe's pencil handwritten). This is a B/W photo of the type in herb. Agardh.
