ir Perithecia gregarious or scattered ovate-globose or elliptical, about
in ^	i mm. diam. (ú-ú), emergent among the loosened fibers of the wood
ig	which, when the perithecia are gregarious, is generally blackened
-5"	on the surface. Ostiola variable, thin, compressed or also sometimes
3	simply papilliform, at length perforated and sometimes partially
collapsing. Asci clavate-cylindrical, 75-80 x'12/*, fchort-stipitate,
^ ..with abundant paraphyses. Sporidia sub-biseriate, fusoid, hyaline,
g ^	uniseptate and constricted, mostly swollen on each side of the septum,
u3 zt ' slightly curved, nucleate, 20-23 x 5-6/-*.
