Location
Puerto Rico. Cordillera Central; Cerro La Torrecilla, northwest of Barranquitas, on Rt. 156 then north on Rt. 770, ca. 1.5 mi, then hiking up mountain (just to east of rd.); [see label for additional information].

Habitat
Moist montane forest; fragmented due to agriculture; forest limited to peak itself. Common along hedge-rows and trail side, in agricultural zone below forest. Prestoea montana conspicuous; with Tetrazygia urbanii, Mecranium latifolium, Heterotrichum (=Clidemia) cymosum, Miconia subcompressa, M. laevigata, M. racemosa.

Description
Low shrub; flowers with petals white, anthers white as well, deflexed to one side of flower; fruits blue. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
