    Vegetation sparse. Growing with Bromus tectorum, Amsinckia sp., Ephedra nevadensis. Soil rocky.

    plant 12' to 24' tall, very straggley, very small flowers in terminal clusters, thick roots, swollen stems, light green leaves at base of plant. Phenology of specimen: Flower.

cliffs below highway 95. Highway 95: 12 miles north of
Main Gate, DZHC Army Depot. Turn right on dirt road,
V2 mile to parking lot..
Soil rocky, vegetation sparse, plant 12' to 24' tall, very straggly, very small
flowers in terminal clusters, thick roots, swollen stems, light green leaves at
base of plants. Growing with Bromus tectorum, Amsinckia sp., Ephedra
nevadensis. Natives used swollen stems to smoke tobacco.
