Near edge of forest, common in places, in clumps, all vegetative. Culms 1.5 cm in basal diameter, 8-10 m tall, erect at the base then scandent, clambering and hanging. Internodes 13-15 cm long, green, smooth. Culm leaves not reaching the next node; blades small, erect; ridge present at juncture of sheath and girdle. Branching infravaginal; central branch often developing and rebranching; subsidiary branches in two groups subtending the central bud or branch. 28 February 1994 L. S. Sarahyba, L. Clark & M.
