Georeferenced to the approximate geographic center of Rio Anil on Ilha São Luíz, Maranhão. Used Bing Maps and Google Maps - Earth View to locate Rio Anil, which branches from Baía de São Marcos. Used the Google Maps - Measure Distance Tool to measure a straight line between the approximate geographic center of the mouth of Rio Anil and the headwaters of the river (approximated), then halved this distance to find the midpoint of the line. Chose a point along the shore of the river nearest to the midpoint of the line, used the Google Maps - What's Here Tool to find the coordinates of the approximate geographic center of the river (collection assumed to be terrestrial). Used the Google Maps - Measure Distance Tool again to find the linear extent by measuring from the selected coordinates to the farthest extent of the river. Input coordinates, linear extent (4690.0 m), and measurement error (5 m) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius (according to the Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Named Place: River, stream, road, path).
