    Forest on steep terrain with rock outcrops, not exposed to cyclones but still with strong presence of lianas, many poles, open canopy, large emergents, modest number of trees in 15-30 cm diam range.

  • Description

    Tree. Tree 20 m x 36 cm diam, low plank buttresses 30 cm high, thick, outer bark gray, sparsely lenticellate, with hoop marks, somewhat scalloped, relatively thick, shed in thick irregular plates. Inner bark orange-tan, sap clear. Pseudostipules 9 mm long. Calyx pale green, corolla suberect, white, stamens white, pistil yellow at base and red up to style. Phenology of specimen: flower.
