  • Habitat

    Forest on steep terrain exposed to supra-annual cyclones, high density of lianas and poles, open canopy with emergents to 30 m tall.

  • Description

    Tree. Tree 25 m x 35 cm diam, outer bark gray, sparsely lenticellate, sparsely but deeply fissured, thick, shed in thick irregular plates; inner bark light orange. Pseudostipules 3-6 mm long, orbicular, leaves with up to 4 pairs of leaflets. Calyx thickly cupular, petals cream, very slightly spreading at anthesis, stamens white, ovary deep red, style and stigmas yellow. Leaflets very pale green abaxially. Phenology of specimen: flower.
