Soil loam, semi-moist. Exposure sun. Rim of canyon, rocky ground, shallow layer of soil.

Description
Herb 15-21" tall, 26-30" wide. Root 6 1/2" long including dense woody tubers. Leaves 1 3/4-2" long. Clusters 1-3" at top of stem. Flower purple, bilaterally symmetrical 3/4-1" wide, 2/3" high. Measurements from fresh plant.
