Gynoecious plant with bright red flowers, styles 2-dilated and multifid, fruit trilocular and distinctyl lobed, related Jatropha cinerea and J. canescens.[Botany Department Greenhouse, University of California at Davis]: Greenhouse Accession No. B74.019. [Original collection]: Plants all dormant, population of ca. 20 plants; on dunes near beach, facing rocky hill opposite Hotel, 5 miles South of San Pedro, Baja California [Mexico]. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
