Growing on mound covered in cerrado vegetation, surrounded by grassy campo. This is a virgin area and the species is not semi-weedy here as it seems to be in some places.

Shrub 1.5 m. tall. Petals bright yellow. Most shoots are leafless. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
