Description
gregarious. Pileus 3-6 cm broad, convex to plano-convex, dry, finely matted, even to very slightly bumpy (scattered and mroe toward margin), even at margin at first, then slightly radially ridged with age, Rood's Brown (7E5,4) with darker spots. Flesh whitish with pale brownish pink tints, unchanging and exuding water-like latex, with mild taste and pungent fenugreek odor. Lamellae adnate to subdecurrent, crowded, narrow, orangish white (6A2), with even edges, not staining from exuded latex. stipe 3.5-6.5 cm long, 1-1.5 cm broad, equal, dry, central, very finely pruinose above, glabrescent below, concolorous with pileus and becoming paler with age, with interior solid to pithy, with white mycelium at base. Spore deposit nearest 4A2-5A2 of Methuen.
