Alt* 200-300 m* 6 April 1962« Main vegetation types of region: (l)°chapadaw, decid- uous to evergreen xer amorphic tree woodland ("cerra- dao") on tops & sides of sandstone plateaus & some low flat land; (2)Mtabuleirotf, deciduous low-tree woodland (another type of t,cerradaon) on upper parts of rolling terrain; (3)%ataw, closed, deciduous to evergreen forest, in galleries; (4)Mcaatingan, open deciduous forest on lower parts of rolling terrain; (5)wvarjaon, scattered deciduous forest-type trees on low flat land; (6)ttcocalN, dense babagu palm groves on Pamaiba River terrace & some brook val- leys* Dry season 4-5 months with almost no raini brooks intermittent.
