Georeferencing Method
Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Georeferenced to the point at 1700 m elevation closest to the center of all the area at 1700 m elevation near the summit of Serra da Grama (~1880 m high), Minas Gerais, Brazil. Serra da Grama is reported to be a feature inside the Parque Estadual Serra do Brigadeiro with an elevation of 1,899m (information provided by the IEF website, accessed at 6/4/2015 http://www.ief.mg.gov.br/component/content/197?task=view ). Using google maps Google Maps - Terrain View and What's Here Tool, located the peak Serra da Grama (-20.749652, -42.471387), and found coordinates (final) for the point at 1700 m closest to the center of all the area at 1700m. Using Google Maps - Distance Measurement Tool, found linear extent by measuring from the selected coordinates to the farthest point on the mountain at 1700m (-20.766085, -42.483251). Input coordinates, linear extent (1510 m), datum (WGS-84), coordinate precision (0.00001 degrees) and measurement error (10 m) into MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius. According to Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Named Place: Bounded Area.
