Rocky easterly and northeasterly slope. Steep rocky slopes. Fairly open with mostly low tortures shrubs or subshrubs including Larrea tridentata, Hymenoclea salsola, Ericameria cooperi, Ephedra nevadensis, Lycium andersonii, Salazaria mexicana, Lepidium fremontii, etc.

shrub, 0.4 m. tall. Shrub, ca. 4 dm. tall with [Ephedra] nevadensis-branching b ut stems green (not glaucous or gray). Phenology of specimen: Flower.
