Description
Vigorous much-branched sprawling plants nearly identical to the native (?) weedy Solanum americanum Mill. infesting Wisconsin gardens, differing by the slightly larger flowers, the leaves not purple-tinged below and the racemose fruits. Ca. 1 m. tall. Not all inflorescences, even on a single branch, are conspicuously racemose. Plants have to be carefully inspected to differentiate from Solanum americanum. Corolla white with yellow green center, becoming reflexed. Fruit very dark purple, almost black, with clear juice and some purple pulp attached to each seed, max. 9 mm diam. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
