  • Description

    Tree fern. Trunks unbrached to 8-10 m tall. 12 cm d.b.h. but wider at base to 15-20 cm diameter. Apex of trunk with dense scales. Base of stipe 24-30 cm long, densely covered with scales and hairs. Stipe above grooved, green, with a line of 3-4 prominent white aerophores along sides (in line with pinnae). Base of stipe brown with spines. Rachis 358-383 cm long with 18-2` pinnae on each side. Longest pinnae to 109 cm long. Apical 4-5 pinnae on frond not fertile. Veins free, branched, with sori midway from costa to margin at point where veins branch. Sori with distinct hairs. (Table). Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
