Habitat
A somewhat elevated spot on otherwise flat, shady floodplain woods.

Description
Plants rhizomatous? Corolla pale purple-blue, anthers deep orange-yellow; flowers visited by bumblebees; restricted to a single patch of probably 100 or so erect stems, these commonly leafless toward base, very prickly. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fertile.
