Mexico. Jalisco. Zapotitlán de Vadillo Mun. Mpio. Zapotitlan. Rancho El Jabali, 20 km (airline) N of Colima in the SW foothills of the Volcan de Colima. Just N of the stateline on a gentle alluvial slope NE of Lago Calabozo. Just outside the stone wall marking the ranch boundary.

Habitat
Natural vegetation humid montane forest. Pasture cleared many years ago and now considerably regrown. With Bursera bipinnata, Acacia pennatula, Hyptis albida, and many other shrubs and small trees. Uncommon.

Shrub to 2.5 m high; fls. light blue. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
