Mexico. Sonora. The Río Mayo Region. Along trail between El Chiribo and La Vinateria, c. 35 km northeast of Alamos.

Habitat
Growing on south-facing slope below edge of mesa. In disturbed oak woods with Quercus chihuahuaensis, Dasylirion, Agave bovicornuta, Solanum tridynam, S. umbellatum, Lithospermum discolor, Senna hirsuta, and Begonia gracilis. Uncommon.

Description
3m tall shrub with white corollas. This collection differs from S. erianthum in the glabrous ovary and berry, subsessile inflorescence, and non-echinoid, glandular trichomes. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fertile, Fruit.
