Pastizal (steeper, higher slopes with chaparral). Prim. Hills of igneous rocks; some canyons. Bouteloua, Hilaria, Quercus spp., Pinus cembr., Ceanothus greggii. Mostly gravelly soil.

Woody at base, to 0.4 m. tall, filaments elongate, corolla white. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fertile.
