Mexico. Colima. Comala Mun. Rancho El Jabali, 22 km (airline) NNW of Colima in the SW foothills of the Volcan de Colima. Colima/Jalisco line passes through ranch. At Lago Jabali, road on hill to N of lake.

Habitat
Natural vegetation humid montane (cloud) forest, but partially cleared for pasture. W/ Ceiba aesculifolia, Ficus, Bocconia, Trichilia, Lysiloma, etc. Clay soils on steep volcanic slopes and alluvial flats.

Description
Solitary liana. Spiny, growing on tree. Fls. green w/white, 3 cm. dia. Flesh orange; seeds turning blue when cut. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
