Mexico. Jalisco. 11-12 miles south of Talpa de Allende, in the headwaters of a west branch of Río de Talpa.

Habitat
Steep mountains; barranca above a rapid clear stream. In dense forest of Quercus, Carpinus, Distylium, Magnolia, Podocarpus, with pine forest on the ridges above. One plant in the barranca.

Description
Shrub 2 m. high; fruit globose, green, more than 2.5 cm. diam.; foliage leaves oblong, up to 45-50 cm. long; petioles 15 cm. long. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
