Location
United States of America. Iowa. Lee Co. Shimek States Forest (owned by the Iowa DNR). This portion of the state forest is approx. 0.6 mi N-NW of Croton. A NW-facing bluff occurs above the bottomland forest E of Lick Creek. The forest is on the Southern Iowa Drift PLain.

Habitat
Semi-open. Dominated by Quercus alba with Juniperus virginiana understory; associated with Antennaria neglecta and Carex pensylvanica. On mineral soil and on the bluff.
