Description
Gregarious. Pileus 5-13 cm broad, convex to planoconvex, dry, tomentose to densely subtomentose, often with erect to suberect, short squamules, reddish brown (9-10E,F8), often with a hoary sheen when young and fresh, with a sterile projecting margin when young. Flesh white, often with a pale reddish tint under surface, unchanging with mild odor and taste. Hymenophore tubulose, adnexed, yellow when young, greenish yellow with age, unchanging; pores concolorous and unchanging. Stipe 10-20 cm long, 1.5-3 cm broad, clavate, dry above, moist and slippery to subviscid at base, glabrous or sometimes with a short, coarse reticulum at apex, marbled whitish and reddish brown, whitish at base; interior white with scattered reddish brown areas, yellow in the base. Phenology of specimen: Basidiomata.
