Habitat
Elfin ericaceous scrub on rocky outcrops.

Description
shrub, 2-2.5 m. high. Shrub, 2-2.5 m.; some plants with a large lignotuber; young flush foliage dark blood-red or pinkish red, leaves coriaceous, yellowish green above, whitish green below; rhachises red, calyces with a green tube and scarlet lobes, fleshy corollas scarlet with green lobes, style red, corollas fall early to leave persistent calyces. A small population locally and also common around Chilla. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
