Costa Rica. Guanacaste. On the eastern slopes of Volcán Miravalles (Cerro la Giganta), above the town of Río Naranjo near the Continental Divide.

Habitat
Along trail at edge of forest. Evergreen cloud forest with trees about 20 m. tall and the distinct understory of dense shrubs 1-2 m. tall.

Description
Small tree 1.5-2 m. tall, branches and leaves below and inflorescences whitish, corollas white, the limb spreading, inflorescence on a slightly recurved peduncle, flowers held below the foliage. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
