Habitat
Semideciduous forest in uplands; evergreen forest in canyons & wet areas; deciduous forest on exposed bluffs; pasture & orchards on central flat. On the weedy margin of a wet cattle pasture, in pastures and second growth. Mangroves. Widely scattered.

Description
An uncommon sprawling/arching perennial; fls. white or with a bluish cast. Very spiny, inhibits passage. Phenology of specimen: Flower , Fertile.
