Habitat
Mesophytic forest. Occasional in poorly drained places.

Description
Tree, about 30 m tall. Flowers with 6 petals, yellowish outside, orange-reddish inside, connate part of the filaments white, the longer filamental lobes some what purplish tinged, anthers yellow. Fruit at maturity globose, above 2 dm diameter. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
