In general N-facing cut-bluff area. With Oryzopsis hymenoides, Juniperus, Poliomintha, Gutierrezia, Chrysothamnus. In soft tan sandy soil.

Stems ascending @ 45-60°; taproot, no connection within top 1.5 dm of sand. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
