    Heavily grazed area with dry cattle trough. Granitic soil with scattered granite outcrops, basaltic ridges above, and conspicuous NE-facing leeward sandy slopes. Upland scrub of Artemisia tridentata, Purshia tridentata, Leptodactylon pungens, Chrysothamnus nauseosus, Leymus cinereus, Achnatherum hymenoides, Phacelia bicolor, Cryptantha circumscissa. Common on leeward sandy 23° N-facing slopes w/Mimulus.
