In open pinon-juniper community. Sandy soil.

Description
Stems loosely clustered on a taproot and branching caudex, forming large clumps, but not creeping below ground. Flowers blue, the keel purple-tipped, the banner with a central white spot. Phenology of specimen: Fertile, Flower.
