Habitat
Windswept ridgeline community with Artemisia tridentata ssp. vaseyana/Festuca idhoensis habitat type. Associated with Sitanion hystrix, Leptodactylon pungens, Achillea millefolium. Plants scattered. Substrate - metamorphic and granitics both ocur on summit ridge. Shallow soils.
