  • Habitat

    Trails and plantation edges. Low elevation sakau plantations mixed with small forest fragments (>0.5 ha.). Many weedy spp. (grasses, Merremia). Clearings larger than forest fragments and mostly open canopy sakau plantings.

  • Description

    Creeping herb, flowering stems to 20 cm; weedy amaranth, abundant on trail. Terminal inflorence, stiff, purple bracts; leaves opposite, stems rooting at nodes.
