Georeferencing Method
Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Georeferenced to the intersection between Rio Juruena and the Brasilia - Acre highway (Road BR-364) in Mato Grosso, Brazil. Used Google Maps – Map and Earth View to find Rio Juruena; followed along the river until located where BR-364 crosses the river. Used the What's Here Tool (Google Maps) to find the approximate geographic center of the intersection (-13.551734, -59.035335). Used the Distance Measurement Tool (also Google Maps) to define the linear extent of the feature by measuring the distance from the center to the farthest part of the intersection. Input: coordinates (-13.551734, -59.035335), coordinate precision (.00001 degrees), datum (WGS84), extent (34.58 m), and measurement error (10 m) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius (according to the Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide Named Place: Junction, Intersection, Crossing).
