Description
Tree-like, to 3 m. Fr. yellow, spindle-shaped, about 10 cm. long, 3.5 cm thick. Lvs thick-coriaceous, deep green above, pale below (purplish when young). Plants said to be wild in this region. [Additional label associated with duplicate sheet:] K 5 [symbol indicates sepals are connate]; C 5 valve; S 5, anthers coherent in tube around P (at least in bud); P stigma punctiform ovary 2 celled w/ [infinity symbol] ovules on axile placentae thin flat disk at ovary base [illustration of gynoecium provided on label]; L alt., exsty's. Phenology of specimen: Sterile.
