Georeferencing Method
Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Georeferenced to an offset of 65 mi along Carr. Bartica Potaro road from Bartica toward Potaro in Guyana. Used Google Maps - Map and Earth Views to locate the cities of Bartica and Potaro. Used the Google Maps - What's Here Tool to find coordinates of the approximate geographic center of Bartica. Used the Google Maps - Measure Distance Tool to find the linear extent by measuring from the selected coordinates to the farthest extent of Bartica (spatial boundaries provided by Google Maps). Moved selected geographic center coordinates to the closest point along the road (at the intersection of Carr. Bartica Potaro and 6th Avenue; see coordinates: 6.404421, -58.624901), then used Google Maps - Measure Distance Tool to measure approximately 65 mi (65.0 mi) along the road towards Potaro. Input coordinate source (locality description), coordinates, datum (WGS84), coordinate precision (0.00001 degrees), extent of named place (0.557084129 mi), measurement error (0.00621371 mi), and distance precision (10 mi) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find uncertainty radius.
