Habitat
Very flat, sandy, subject to occasional flooding, thin forest and roadsides with many Solanaceae.

Description
Many saplings and a few to 4 m. tall but mostly young and flowers and fruits rare; bristly-hispid throughout, with erect central trunk and few, ascending branches. Corolla deep violet, probably fading with age; anthers yellow; fruit green, globose, the calyx strongly inflated at the base into 5 lobes, each of these sulcate. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
