Habitat
Near Redwood Grove, planted in mid-section of the Arboretum, near a cultivated tree of Metasequois glyptrostoboides.

Description
saplig. This specimen was collected from an escaped sapling with unusually long leaves and fast growing leading shoots. It may represent a bi-generic hybrid between Metasequois and Sequoia sempervirens. Bi-generiuc hybrids of these genera have been reported before, also see the cultivated trees at San Jose State University/ close proximity. Phenology of specimen: Sterile.
