Habitat
Lower slopes of mountains, mostly cleared and in pastures. Cut by deep ravines. Mostly cleared. Evergreen shrubs 2-3 m. high, with a few small trees up to 5 m. high in ravines. Uncommon in gully with shrubs. Uncommon.

Height 13 ft. D.B.H. 4 in. Flowers, violet. Immature fruits, green. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
