  • Habitat

    It is commonly found mostly in primary forest (25 out of 2573 trees in 16 out of 28 forest plots) in all Barí territory. It has been eliminated from the forest in most ranch over the original Barí territory by Venezulans because of its precious lumber. The soil is normally sandy dark brown, quite humid and rich in humus.

    Tree 80(-220) cm dbh & 40(-50) m tall with a. The bark is flexible and strong as raw hide. Woody fruit 10 cm long & 6 cm wide with 3 seeds. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
