Description
Shrub to 1 m., mostly less, spreading. Stems short-spined, hirsute. Leaves oblanceolate, with a cordate base. Blades to 21 cm. long, to 9 cm. wide; petioles 2-3 cm., green, brownish hirsute. New growth rich golden brown. Apical flower clusters with 4-5 flowers open at once, these blue with yellow stamens, 3 cm. in diameter. Fruit green and purplish tipped, becoming yellowish when ripe. Seeds tan. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
