    Flowers orange to vermillion with spots on dorsal sepal; petals orange. Two ssp occuring together here. Larger plants with smaller flowers (ssp erubescens) on drier areas near road; while smaller plants with bigger flowers (ssp carsonii) away from road in damper areas; 2 ssp. only 50 m apart. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
