Klamath Mountains Ecoregion (Siskiyou Mts.). Dry S facing slope. Open dry chapparal type woodland with Umbellaria, Arctostaphylos, Ceanothus, Arbutus, Quercus, Lithocarpus. Rather frequent. Rather shallow soil over and among serpentine outcrops and gravel.

small tree, 3-4 m. tall. Small tree 3-4 m. tall, cone butterscotch-yellow, pendulous, "fleshy". Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
