Habitat
Growing on open ground by the roadside, cleared of dry forest/cerradão transition formation during roadmaking operations.

Description
Large wide-spreading woody bush, 4 m tall. Corolla deep royal-blue at anthesis, fading with aging. Main stem 11 cm in diameter at breast height, copiously branched. Bark pale fawn & deeply-fissured, unarmed. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
