Habitat
Very steep northwest-facing 40° slope. Open woodland of Pinus contorta and occasional P. flexilis, with scant herb layer including Eriogonum lobbii, Raillardella argentea, Swertia puberulenta. Rare. Loose pumice alluvium and coarse rhyolite talus.

Flowers magenta-violet, cauline leaves widely eliptic. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
